The image of soft rolling hills connotes the earth at her mature, nurturing best. Central to the image is a great tree almost floating among the hills. The element of earth is consistent, conscientious, responsible, careful, firm, reliable, ambitious, and respectful. Earth from around the globe... Chakra. Earth is the Muladhara or Root Chakra. Physically, Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security. Muladhara has a relation to the sense of smell. Astrology. In astrology the Earth Signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. It's common to hear someone described as "earthy." Such a person blends in with their natural habitat. They're sensual, meaning they engage with life through the five senses. It takes time to sense the dense physical world, and earth signs can operate at a slower, more thorough pace than the other elements. They're oriented toward what's real, practical, and often this makes them very productive, able to create tangible results. Earth creates dependable grounded structure. Christianity. In his beautiful song praising creation in the glorification of God St. Francis of Assisi wrote about Earth in verse 9 in, “The Canticle of the Creatures”. The Element dangle earrings have been designed to work beautifully with the matching Elements Pendant, and are trimmed down a bit compared to the pendant to be lighter weight which makes them really comfortable to ware. They measure 1 ¼ inches tall and 3/8 of an inch at its widest arching to an overall thickness of ¼ inch. The total length is 1 ¾ inches including the ear wire. The earring dangles from a handmade ear wire hung through an oval opening just as with the matching pendent. The Element post earrings have been designed to work beautifully with the matching Elements Pendant, and are trimmed down a bit compared to the pendant to be lighter weight which makes them really comfortable to ware. They measure 1 inch tall and 3/8 of an inch at its widest arching to an overall thickness of ¼ inch. The post length is 3/8 inches and .033 inch in diameter.
